New Model Release ~ The Torrent

The Torrent is a 5 inch real much like the Genesis model.
The reel is hand crafted from 6062-T6 Aircraft grade aluminum. The spool runs on ABEC-5 "Hybrid" Ceramic/Stainless Steel bearings.

There are only a couple of these in customers hands at the moment due to the recent release date. Feedback on the real so far is excellent. Anglers' seem to like the larger portings on the face of the spool as it gives them something to "Flick" to retrieve line.

Here isa short slide show of the most recent reels to leave the Paine Falls Centerpin facility.

Dolomedes Triton

The Dolomedes Triton is a 4" reel that was custom ordered by a local angler, business owner and repeat customer; Domenic Federico. Due to his satisfaction with the previous Paine Falls reel, Domenic wanted a one-of-a-kind reel, and that is exactly what he received.

The reel was delivered last Wednesday (April 15, 2009) evening and it left on it's maiden voyage to the Trout streams of Pennsylvania for opening day of Trout season on Friday. From the reports that I have received back from Domenic the reel performed flawlessly. The start-up is exceptional as well as the reels ability to pay-out line during a drift.

A special thanks to Domenic for supplying the majority of the pictures used to produce the following slideshow.

4 inch Custom Reel

The slideshow below is of a 4 inch custom reel that was made for a friend from New Jersey.
The reel weighs 7.8 ounces without any line or backing.
The spool was anodized clear and the back plate was anodized dark green.

The porting pattern on this reel was a first, and so far it has been strongly accepted by those who have seen it.

Welcome to Paine Falls Centerpin

Paine Falls Centerpin
Paine Falls Centerpin pin was founded by Adam Demarco who is a lifelong native of Northeastern Ohio. "Paine Falls Centerpin began with the fact that I had more time than money. It was natural, given my knowledge of machining, that I'd build my first pin
rather than purchase one!" Adam goes on to say, "I find that building a centerpin is as Zen-like an experience as fishing one. I fall into a world that consists of me, the machine and the work piece. It is very much like a day out on the water."

As a motivated, determined and meticulous individual, Adam pours his blood, sweat and tears into everything he sets out to accomplish. Nothing in the world is perfect and there are always areas for improvement especially from the viewpoint of someone who sees mechanical function to such a great magnitude. You'll find the fact that others consider Adam somewhat excessive when it comes detail. Adam inspects his reels repeatedly looking for the smallest imperfections, and it seems he is never satisfied; always wanting better.

Paine Falls Reels continues to strive for perfection in every aspect of reel building. New models and sizes are almost ready for release, and planning is underway for future reels and other ideas. We welcome your thoughts, ideas and criticisms.

See you on the water!
